Meet me halfway (14+)
HET LAB@KROKUS (work-in-progress)
concept & performance Adams Mensah / coproduction HET LAB-Hasselt / © Shamisa Debroey
What if an adopted black young man and a white young woman fall in love? What if both are still struggling with their past? What if both are not ready yet? What if cultures get in the way of each other and themselves? What if two people want to love each other and cannot? Or not being able to but still want it?
Meet me half way gives word, image and body to their attempt, somewhere between attraction and conflict, between understanding and incomprehension, between love and hate. A smashing text about cultures, migration and, above all, about identity.
