The room is filled with a silence that feels almost tangible. In a photo, two smiling people. One is still here, the other has crossed over. Everything breathes memory.
In a world that spins faster and faster, we often forget that saying goodbye takes time. But what if we could stretch that time just a little longer? What if we could be together, just a moment more, with the one we have to let go?
Between the one who stays and the one who leaves, a special dialogue begins to unfold. A dialogue like a dance: playful and tender, full of laughter and longing. A sweeping tango, a featherlight waltz, a slow ballet, a furious pogo, a nostalgic disco...
Laika, known as the ‘theatre of the senses’, is a frequent guest at the Krokusfestival. Think of delightful productions like Opera Buffa, Zigzagkind/Zig zag Child, De passant/The Passerby, and in 2025, the fantastic musical tale Amadou.
This time, it’s about death. There, we’ve said it. Is it allowed, can we speak of farewell on stage? Absolutely, and especially in the form of de berg (the mountain): as reconciliation, as comfort, as a gentle embrace of the mystery of life and death. And it’s for everyone, young and not-so-young alike.
