Bron
BELGIAN PREMIERE
Bron is a dance performance in which generations come together to bear witness to vulnerability, imagination, and strength. Set to live music by Thomas Devos, the dancers explore what connects them and what kind of future they want to shape together. With water playing a leading role. With a spring as a gathering place - where life flows, and sometimes overflows.
With Bron, Joke Laureyns and Kwint Manshoven return to the essence of their work. After as long as we are playing (CCHA, 2020), an ode to the playful human, and promise me (CCHA, 2022), which celebrated freedom and recklessness, Bron is an ode to the creative human: about the need to ‘make,’ about humans as ‘makers,’ and about the question of how shapeable life truly is.
The world of kabinet k has always been intergenerational. Adult, professional dancers share the stage with young performers. This child’s gaze is not an excuse for naïve innocence - quite the opposite. At kabinet k, the child’s perspective offers forms of openness: uninhibitedness, spontaneity, self-reliance, and intuition.
In Bron, there is a yearning to cast off burdens, to return to something essential, to find home together.
Bron is a performance that moves, connects, and reminds us of the power of community.
