Krokusfestival is a celebration for young audiences, so we'd like to let them decide which performance is the best. Just like last year, the Children's Jury will once again choose the best performance of the Krokusfestival.
This year, Ede, Paulina, Noa, Flore, Nena, Lune, Vera, Ea, and Dorian were the nine members of the Children's Jury (ages 8-12) who critically reviewed performances daily and announced the Krokusjury Award on Wednesday, February 18th - just before the closing performance of The Game - Grand Finale.
And the winner is...
After thorough discussion, the children's jury selected four performances that they felt stood out.
- Laika with de berg/the mountain: "A story about death and how you keep missing someone, and especially about all the things you can do with that missing."
- Collectief dOFt with POR: "A story about young and old on a revolving set."
- Theater Artemis with Het beste van mij/The best of me: "A wonderful, funny performance that caught us off guard and even had us participating."
But the CHILDREN’S AWARD Krokusfestival 2026 goes to a production that deals with big things on a smaller scale. Big things like: a journey into the future, even if that future isn't pleasant. What will happen when we humans are no longer around and nature takes over? The actors made the theater walls crumble, had animals run and swim by, and activated the theater's distress signal. Fortunately, it was only a model of the real theater, but the performance continued to captivate and surprise us.
The CHILDREN’S AWARD of the Krokusfestival 2026 goes to Elke rots wordt ooit een kiezelsteen / Every rock will become a pebble once by Plankton. CONGRATULATIONS!
